Village moves towards developing Riverside Drive

The Cazenovia Village Board will hold a special meeting with Sphere representatives at 7 p.m. Dec. 19, where the contract between the two entities will be reviewed.

In other board news:

— A resolution was unanimously approved, hiring the engineering firm Dunn and Sgromo for no more than $22,000, to work on the Clark Street bridge. The firm will provide the village with engineering estimates and guidance. Mahoney also discussed the difference between using concrete or timber to replace the closed bridge. He said concrete would be a more costly material compared to timber, but would last an average of 20 years longer and require less maintenance.

— The January Cazenovia Village Board Meeting was set to take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 5 in the Municipal Building.

— Mayor Wheeler announced that a community survey, devised by the village’s Economic Development Committee, is currently being distributed throughout town. The form asks residents to name three things they enjoy about Cazenovia, and two things they would like to see changed. Completed forms can be returned to the village office in the Municipal Building.

— The board approved the Community Chest’s request to hang a sign, alerting residents of their fund drive, on the Lakeland Park fence until Dec. 31.
