LETTERS: DeRuyter Citizens for a Voice to hold informational hydrofracking meeting

To the editor:

Shale gas extraction is on the horizon in New York and in our community.

But is hydraulic fracturing safe? Find out how to protect your township.

DeRuyter Citizens for a Voice will be holding a fracking meeting from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 at the American Legion Hall on Seminary Street in DeRuyter. The event will feature a social hour form 6 to 7 p.m. and a screening of the documentary “Gasland” from 7 to 9 p.m. A discussion will follow the film.

This event is free and open to all. The public is encouraged to attend.
