continued The village was also fortunate to receive a major grant from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation to help re-route storm water from our sanitary sewer system, a significant concern during storm events.
As the costs of updating our infrastructure grow each year along with other expenses, the need to enhance our local economy is clearer than ever if we hope to slow the growth of tax rates. The village created an Economic Development Advisory Committee in July to help with this process. As 2012 dawns, the village is actively engaged in redeveloping the Riverside Drive area.
The annexation of a new parcel of land into the village edge north zone east of McDonalds bodes well for new growth in that area and much ground work has been laid for the addition of a micro-brewery and hop farm on the village’s southern edge. The village is currently conducting a community survey to help set priorities during 2012 and beyond.
We look forward to sharing the results of those surveys with the public during the new year.
Our desire is to seek the involvement of every citizen as we work together to make Cazenovia an even nicer place to live during 2012.
