Cazenovia Rotary to hold food drive and scrap metal drop-off to benefit local veterans

— The Cazenovia Rotary Club and Empire Management Co. are partnering with “Feed Our Vets” of Utica, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, to sponsor a food drive and scrap metal drop off to benefit local veterans in need. The event will be held in the Empire Management Co. parking lot, near Tops (71 Nelson St.).

Cazenovia Rotary members and volunteers from the “Feed Our Vets” initiative will be on hand to answer questions and collect the scrap metal and food donations. Free coffee and doughnuts will be on hand compliments of Tim Hortons.

The “Feed Our Vets” food wish list is as follows: ready-made meals in a box, canned foods, boxed meals such as mac & cheese or canned soups, and cereal.

A scrap metal dumpster will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers will be available to help load the dumpster. Examples of items accepted include refrigerators, small items made primarily of metal, washing machines, lawn mowers, but not small appliances such as a microwaves, computers or televisions.

Should anyone have an item that requires pick up, they can call 368-5973 and note that the donation is to benefit the “Feed Our Vets” initiative.
